Ok so I’m currently on a 150mbs plan from XFINITY. It’s really bad. Constant drops in storms, frequent days where there is upwards of 50% packet loss, shitty customer support (had to wait 2 weeks for an “advanced” tech to call me about my packet loss and I didn’t even get the call) . For someone who streams frequently ...Some areas are starting to get Yomura Fiber, which is better than AT&T and Google. Their contention ratio is much lower, which means less customers are competing for bandwidth on a single GPON leg. I have many friends with AT&T Fiber in the Atlanta area that have outages multiple times a week over the past year. I live in a major city so I get access to Xfinity and Verizon Fios gig options but strangely no AT&T fiber. In my opinion, as much as I want to leave Xfinity I can’t because even though FIOS has symmetrical gig speeds it’s about 300 mbps slower for their service (download) but more importantly their cable offerings are trash compared to ...
